Ordination of Deacon Semu Serunjogi
On Sunday, January 31, 2016, Mr. Semu Serunjogi was ordained to the Holy Order of Deacon by Mar Magen David, Bishop of the Westchester Diocese at Congregation of the Messiah parish.
Rev. Deacon Semu and his wife, Jennifer along with their son, Nuwa became members of the parish in 2012. Both became aware of the church when they enrolled their son at Woodlot Christian Preschool where Bishop David's wife, Yvonne teaches.
Deacon Semu and Jennifer grew up in Uganda within the Anglican tradition. It was their desire for a Biblically centered, liturgical and sacramental church which drew them to the parish.
Semu studied at Baruch College earning his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and has worked for the New York State Controller's Office. Jennifer works for the United Nations.
